Hi, I’m Shannon, a Product Designer. As the founding and sole designer at Dash Solutions, I lead design for five fintech product areas spanning fraud, KYC/compliance, payments, and incentives. I own design for Dash Defense, a net-new fraud case management platform that replaced an outsourced program and shipped to WCAG 2.2 AA, plus the MyDashCard and DashDigital redesigns. Wherever AI shows up in our products, I design it with discernment and empathy so people stay in control.
Who am I
👋🏻 I'm Shannon! (but my friends call me Shan.)
I came to product design through communications, graphic design, and six years in specialty insurance at Ryan Specialty, so regulated, detail-heavy work in fraud, risk, and compliance is familiar ground.
I also trained in front-end development, which helps me partner closely with engineers and design things that are practical to build. I'm relocating to Chicago.
What I do
How I Work
User research is key for UI/UX design, ensuring the final product fits users' needs and preferences by uncovering their goals, pain points, and requirements for creating user-centric designs.
The ideation phase lets me think creatively and brainstorm multiple solutions to a problem. The more effort I put into this phase, the smoother the prototyping and testing stages become.
Sketching efficiently communicates design concepts and enables me to explore multiple ideas, iterating until I settle on the best one.
UI/UX design plays a crucial role in establishing a positive perception of a product, as the user's impression and experience ultimately determine the product's acceptance level in the target market.
